Blufish!

Ok people, I apologize for not updating my blog regularly as I want to but I thought I write about this place called Blufish that I went to last night.anywayyy I didn't notice but this place is actually operated by the same owner of my favorite sushi restaurant called Sushi Ai. Honestly, I haven't had sushi for the longest time and I couldn't wait to get my food on. Ok, lets first start with the interior. The place had a nice cozy feeling to it. I really liked the way they decorated the inside with yellow lights and furniture which complimented each other well. I started off with a glass of Saki that was surprisingly good. I usually don't drink hard liquor because I get hangovers, and lets admit it guys, hard liquor is NASTY...taste like crap =P the saki I had wasn't dry but more on the sweet side. It was served in a tiny glass and cost me $10...shitty lol so yeah me and spicy tuna lover decided to start with asparagus beef roll. oh weeee, was this good! It's a dish with asparagus rolled in N.Y steak with pan fried and served in soy sauce.I must admit, the highlight of this dish was definitely the sauce. It wasn't too sweet, but sweet enough where you kept dipping into it. So after we tore through the remains of what was left, my dish came out. I got a dish called Red Phoenix which is spicy tuna over snow crab =) aside from the taste, what I really enjoyed was the way the chef managed to decorate the dish with an apple and carrots. It was really creative and made me not want to eat it lol the first bite I took...lets just say was straight up hot sex in my mouth =D It must have been a combination of me not being exposed to sushi for the longest time and I was hungry...not to mention I've been teased by my food adversary Nikki the past couple weeks. I took a picture and sent it to her ASAP.haha felt a sense of victory rush through my veins. I murdered my plate with nothing left but a little bit of wasabi on my plate.=D now I think you can guess what spicy tuna lover ordered right? she got this dish called jingle roll which is basically spicy tuna LOL. It has assorted colors of tobiko with spicy tuna on top with cilantro in it.Btw I really don't like cilantro, but I still had to try it out, so try it out I did. Besides the after taste of cilantro in my mouth, the roll was gooooood. I loved how the tobiko(fish eggs) would pop in my mouth like candy. So...after we were done with our dish, we were still not full...so decided to order some more food.LOLOL. so we ordered stuff mushroom which is my favoriteee! only downside to this dish is that it's relatively heavy, so if you're looking into something that is fresh, I would stay away from it. It's seasoned snow crab stuffed in white mushrooms. Like the asparagus I enjoyed earlier, the sauce is the selling point of this dish. For the main dish I ordered puff wrapped ahi which is spicy tuna (again. LOL), cream cheese & avocado wrapped in filo dough and oven baked served with creamy wasabi sauce and soy sauce. We took out the cream cheese since it's too fattening ( see the irony here?) haha but yeahhh I didn't have endorphins rushing through like I did with my Red Phoenix but it was still good =) it was kind of greasy but the tuna balanced it out. The food was good in general, but it seemed to be over priced a little bit, but the staff ,food and the interior made up for it =P would I go back again? absolutely! but after I get paid haha.
